Location

Mignac is a little hamlet 5 miles from Loudun which is a busy town on the main road between Saumur in the Loire valley and Poitiers the main town of the departement of la Vienne.

Loudun has a bustling market and there are lots of shops and restaurants catering for all tastes. There are several large supermarkets and a swimming pool and some lovely old churches.

Not too far away to the south of Loudun is Moncourant where there is a big sports complex. There are lots of water sports available and also tennis courts etc.

To the north of Loudun near to Saumur there is a wonderful troglodyte cave museum and also the main vineyards have there outlets in Saumur if you feel like bringing home some of the regional wines.

To the south, about 40 mins away, just to the north of Poitiers is Futuroscope an amazing 3D theme park. Tickets can be purchased at the tourist office in Loudun.

This region boasts some of the greatest castles of the ‘Garden of France’-Amboise, Chenonceaux, Villandry to mane but a few. The region is ideal walking and cycling territory and the wildlife abounds.
